Hi Everyone,
I am a recent graduate with a undergrad business degree from a top Canadian school. However, my cgpa is only 2.63 but my 4th year gpa was a 3.3. I wouldn't say that my gpa had a gradual upward trend, more of a gpa of 2.3 for years 1-3 and a sudden jump in my last year. I was just wondering if I should even bother to plan on applying to some of the top US schools like Columbia, NYU or Berkeley and what GMAT score I would need to achieve in order to gain admission to these schools.
Here are some of the factors that affected my gpa: The hospitalization of a very close family member which resulted in her death during my second year final exams and my mother's battle with cancer in my third and fourth year.
I was wondering if adcoms will take these factors into consideration and if I would need to attach evidence (death certificate, doctor's notes etc...) to my optional essay. Also, how detailed should my explanation be?
On a side note: I am also planning to attend a 1-year college program in September for Advertising Account Management. Should this be included in my application?
Thanks for all the help!!
