Hi everyone! I am new to the GMAT Club and I am seeking some advice for my GMAT study plan. I have about 9 weeks to go through 1
MGMAT Study Guide each week. I aim to study for about 4 hours/M-F and take one practice exam on Saturday. I was able to break down the 9
MGMAT SG to 1 SG book per week. Per each book, I split the chapters to complete per each day along with doing the practice problems at the end of the chapters.
Now, I wanted to have your suggestions on how should my day to day studying look like on top of the SG chapter. For example, how many practice
OG questions should I do per day after each
MGMAT SG chapter? If so, should I do it through the
MGMAT navigator or in the
OG book itself?
Side note question, should I continue taking
MGMAT CATs each week? I do not have any material mastered yet, so I do not understand why do many study plans include a practice test each week? Can I do them after I learn all the 9
MGMAT books? Also, should Error Logs be done for every single question I possibly practice from
OG or only for practice exams?
Hi lsai123,
Welcome to GMATCLUB! I recommend that you first complete the lessons given in the
MGMAT guide along with a few practice questions given at the end of the chapters. Only after completing the chapters, should you move on to the
OG questions. That way you can take the maximum advantage to
OG questions.
Also, do not start with
MGMAT practice tests before learning the materials.
MGMAT tests are a bit harder than the official Mocks and would likely affect your confidence if you give them without learning the concepts first. These tests are best used when you are done with the entire prep materials and you want to solidify your concepts by learning to apply them in timed environment.
Hope this helps. All the best!
