Hi all, been lurking for about a year and love all the great advice I get here. I have one quick question. I signed up to take the GRE because I was considering a non-business graduate program. I scored fairly well, nothing spectacular. My question relates to the mailings that one receives. I signed up to receive correspondence from b-schools about their programs and I have received a couple of interesting information packets from schools that I hadn't considered before, due to them being out of my league tuition wise, and in terms of my belief that I had slim prospects of getting in to them. I cannot remember when I checked the box to receive these mailings, but is it possible that these are being sent to me because of factors in my profile? (e.g. test scores, age, location, etc). I'm not sure if admissions offices can get away with that (and not sure if ETS would share that info) but I'm just wondering if these mailings are
more the result of successful b-schools being able to mass mail their information to increase their candidate pool, or targeted mailings because they saw something in me. Cheers to anyone who responds!
