You scored 53 on the quant?????????????????????????????

ya I thought it was weird too, since 51 is the max on the GMAT, but I've heard of people getting a 52...? I missed 5 problems, none of them back to back. You think that's a glitch?

Sorry, I am multitasking  did not realize it was Kaplan - they do have 53 :)
Not in the real thing.

You have good scores. I would take a GMAT Prep - I know it is good to save it but Kaplan has been a tad positive lately (after giving scores that were as much as 100 points off)

1. I would study the SC book and whatever else you need to "fix"
2. Then take the GMAT Prep in a few weeks
3. You should be in a good shape by then; if not, you can look into other books such as MGMAT CR, MGMAT RC, MGMAT Number Properties, Kaplan Math Workbook or others.

P.S. Don't waste too much time on doing extra questions (other than asked by the guidebook). However, if you don't listen to my advice and do them, make sure you time yourself.

what do you mean don't do extra practice? Do you mean don't do all the OG questions? I'm using an error log and timing every question.

Also - I took GMATprep 1 and got a 750 (above)

Definitely with those scores before any studying you're in great shape to score in the 760-770 range. Just work on the sections you aren't 100% on.

Cheers,

Yes. Once you do a few hundred questions, the value decreases and time could be used better for other things, but you are in a great shape if you are getting 750 on GMAT Prep without much studying.
