Hi all,

When we see the following:

Mary requests/demands that John …

Can we confirm that it is of subjunctive mood?

If you have two choices, what will you choose? What is your reasonale?

(A) Mary requests/demands that John pay for the dinner. (subjunctive mood)

(B) Mary requests/demands that John pays for the dinner.

Can (B) be a correct answer too? Can we use “xxx requests/demands yyy that” without subjunctive mood?

Tks all

A obviously.
If there is no A given, I will look for
Mary requests John to pay for the dinner.

If also not present,
I would go for B.

A is correct and B is wrong.

gmat SC for Subjunctive is that subjunctive verb + that + noun + be verb.
