Hello,
I was wondering what tenses are these verbs:
I would go
I would went
I would have gone
Similarly:
I could eat
I could ate
I could have eaten
Can you please explain how past form of "would" or "could" changes the tense.
Ok look
to be very clear, the middle ones in both the would, could set are wrong and they are just awkward constructions, according to the GMAT
Now, first one in both is a simple present tense
Third one in both is past perfect tense (just because of that could/would)
I could eat means that a guy can eat something if he wants too
The time passed now he is saying I could have eaten,
meaning, if a guy is teasing him that he didn't eat then, he's telling him that he could have
