Suppose z = a × b × c × d × e, where a > b > c > d > e. A decrease by 1 in which factor would result in the greatest decrease in z?

C. c
D. d

Initially thought decreasing the largest factor a would matter most, but the solution says e. I don’t understand why. Could someone explain step by step?
