Hi Sugandha, the usage of being is considered correct, primarily in the following two scenarios:

i) Usage of being as a progressive form (depicting the meaning in the process of)

For example: In modern societies, patriarchal setups are being challenged by emboldened women.

ii) Usage of being is used as a gerund (noun form).

For example: Being ambitious is the first step towards success.

p.s. Our book EducationAisle Sentence Correction Nirvana discusses the usage of being, its application and examples in significant detail. If someone is interested, PM me your email-id; I can mail the corresponding section.
