An option that is likely to strengthen this causal relationship is the one that eliminates alternate cause “Z” to reach the conclusion “Y”.
Since we have to strengthen that X causes Y, an option that eliminates alternate cause “Z” as the reason for Y, is likely to be the correct answer

Question:
At the beginning of last year, the Government in country-X approved a plan to provide subsidy on sale of electric vehicles in the country, resulting in reduction of the sale-price of electric vehicles. In the year following the price reduction, the sales of electric vehicles increased by 10%. Clearly, the reduction of the sale-price resulted in increase in sales.
