Patterns in Strengthen the Conclusion
Introduce additional supporting evidence
This is perhaps the most important pattern in “strengthen the conclusion” question. The correct answer choice in this case provides additional supporting evidence that gives us a reason to believe that the conclusion is indeed logical. For instance, if the argument concludes that tobacco is harmful to health, then a supporting evidence that would strengthen this conclusion would be: globally, 8 million deaths annually are directly attributed to the adverse health effects of tobacco consumption.

One correct answer to the above question is:
Plastic carry-bags comprise a significant proportion of the plastic waste generated in Vesparis.
Let us think about it. If the above is not true (in other words, if plastic carry-bags do not comprise a significant proportion of the plastic waste generated in Vesparis, but comprise only 1% of the plastic waste generated in Vesparis), then banning the use of plastic carry-bags will not significantly bring down the plastic waste generated in Vesparis. Hence, the above correct answer is a strong piece of evidence that validates the soundness of their plan.
p.s. This is a similar official question, for addition practice.
