In each of the past six years, there was a steep, industry-wide decline in sales of cybersecurity software.
The argument presents the following information:
- Sales of Cyberdyne Systems' cybersecurity software increased the overall sales for the company, after hiring new sales personnel.
- Profits from the additional sales were substantially less than the salary that the company paid towards the salary of the newly hired sales personnel
- Conclusion that we have to weaken: The hiring of new sales personnel campaign did not further Cyberdyne Systems' economic interests.
This answer choice states that there has been a consistent industry-wide decline in sales of cybersecurity software in each of the past six years. So, while the rest of the industry suffered a consistent decline in sales, the newly hired sales personnel resulted in an increase in sales of cybersecurity software. This clearly means that the economic interests of Cyberdyne Systems were furthered. Hence, it weakens the conclusion that the hiring of new sales personnel campaign did not further Cyberdyne Systems' economic interests.
