Initial investment= 6:5
Let time=x:y
Profit =9:5
So, 6*x:5*y=9:5 => x:y=3:2
As per question x=9, hence y=6
this may be a stupid question and I may be missing something but how did you calculate the the ratio by doing 9/6 ? if so then is 5/5 not taken coz it does not give a ratio ?
Let me further simplify for explaination,
Ratio of Profit=(Ratio of investment)*(Ratio of time)
Ratio of profit is given : 9/5
Ratio of investment is given : 6/5
Ratio of time we have to find.(Rama invested for 9 months, kishore we do not know ,let kishore's time be x)
So, 9/5=(6/5)*(9/x) , solving will give you x=6.
For your 2nd question,
5/5 is taken
(5/5 will give you 1 and multiplying or dividing by 1 wont affect the ratio).
Hope it helps.
