B. so much money he can maintain:-  Correct Idiom here is So much X that Y, hence 'So much' should be followed by 'That'
 
C. enough money that he maintain-  Enough must be followed by 'to' ; moreover, verb 'maintain' is incorrect and must be replaced by 'maintains' since subject is singular.

D. money enough for the maintenance of-  Enough should precede the noun 'money', this interrupts the meaning
 
E. enough money so that he can maintain-  Usage of can here is incorrect because 'saved' is simple past tense, hence 'can' must be replaced by 'could'

I think the reason for not using E is the use of “so-that”. It is a cause and effect. So the correct usage in my opinion should be: “so-as”

Thank you for your question, but there is a "to" missing between "able " and "maintain" in option A , making it difficult to choose it as the correct answer. For A to be correct we should have ....able to maintain ...............instead we have ..........able maintain..... Please edit option A, Thank you.

There are two reasons why Option E is wrong. First, why not simply say ''enough to maintain'' generally the word ''enough has to follow ''to'' the usage of the phrase ''enough that'' is incorrect idiom or not an elegant diction. Second, since the main verb ''saved'' is in past tense, modal verb ''can'' is wrong, instead ''could'' should be used. This logic is similar usage of ''would'' when the reported speech is in past tense. ''will'' is used only when the reported speech is in present tense.
