Can you kindly explain the difference between rate for vs. rate of and where each of these are used.

Example:
Rate for liability insurance has risen -- Q72 OG verbal review edition 2.

Thank You!

This post was
BOOKMARKED
Rate of = frequency

Rate for = price

For this example it means to say price of insurance has increased and not frequency.

Please give Kudos if i have helped you understand

Rate for means 'Price Charged'

Rate of means 'measure'

For example:

The rate for the accidental coverage has increased from $200 to$400.

The rate of change of accidental coverage can be associated with the advent of self-driven cars.

Thanks
