I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong thread. If it's wrong, is there a general maths thread I can ask? I keep trying MGMAT's forums, but every time I post something, it disappears...
I'm doing MGMAT's math guide for ratios and I'm stuck on one thing. I got the correct answer...but the wording is wonky.
Initially, the men and women in a room were in the ratio of 5:7. Six women leave the room. If there are 35 men in the room, how many women are left in the room?
The answer I got was 43 and it matches the answer key, but I was a bit confused at first. If six women left the room and it doesn't mention men leaving, wouldn't it change the ratio so that there are less women in the ratio? Or shouldn't the ratio change at all?
Many thanks in advance!
