Would the level of difficulty of the next question (after the RC passage) be decided based on how you did on average on the passage's questions?
The level of difficulty of the next question would be based on where you stood after completing the questions. In a sense, the level of difficulty of the next question would fit how you did on the RC questions on average, but the difficulty of the next question is not determined by considering the average of how you did on the previous questions.

Rather, if you got the last RC question correct, the next question would likely match or exceed in difficulty the last RC question, and if you missed the last RC question, the next question would likely match or be lower in difficulty than the last RC question.

That said, the GMAT scoring algorithm doesn't always work exactly that way. Sometimes, easier question or harder questions follow a question regardless of whether you got that question correct.

But anyway, you get the general idea.

RC questions are not linked in the sense that one incorrect answer would automatically nullify all the other questions you got correct for the same passage. If you have the Official-Guide (you can get e-versions of different guides from the MBA website), there is some myth vs. fact info in the beginning regarding the algorithm you may find interesting.

Hi gmattaker12321,

Each Reading Comprehension question is counted separately. So, just because you get one question wrong, related to a passage does not mean you get them all wrong.
