Hi,
I recently gave a gmat mock and found 5 rc's with 3 questions each (if not mistaken) and my entire verbal section was ruined.
Kindly guide in sucha situation
1)Is it advisable to leave a rc set?
2)What time should be spent doing each rc+ question individually in such a situation.
3)What should be the time bifurcated to each rc and question answering individualy.
Kindly guide.
You will not know how many RCs you will get till about the end of the test. So it is useless to plan a strategy with this number in mind. The strategy should be the same in all cases - try to get through as fast as possible. Take about a min each for SC questions and about 2 mins each for CR questions. For RC, run through the passage and make 2-3 word notes on each paragraph. Then try to answer questions quickly. It isn't a good idea to leave the whole set because then you will have 3-4 questions incorrect in a row. If 1-2 answers before or after this set also happen to be incorrect, it could really impact your score.
If you know that you will fall behind on time, take a quick guess here and there on your weak areas to bank some extra time.
All in all, try to increase your reading and comprehension speed by giving yourself timed practice challenges.
