I feel like I have improved on RC but when it comes to Hard RC (OG12), I am still struggling a bit.
Question: What is the best way to review RCs' explanations in OG? I mean when I get an SC question wrong, I try to understand my mistake and thus learn from it - but RC is so subjective. What should I look for when I read the OG explanations - what could I possibly learn? Most often than not I get the answer wrong because I missed something altogether or misinterpreted something from the passage - what can you do about it other than just keep practicing and thus get better over-time? It's not like SC, where I know the rule I can apply next time and thus prevent it from happening again. Any tips on how to review RCs, as in what should I focus on when reviewing so that I can learn something from that mistake?

My approach with RC has been to work on the timings - read a large passage in 3-4 mins and try to finish the reading + questions in 2min/question. Also you may try to find a pattern if you are missing more of inference questions or more of main idea questions and then work on improving that category in general.

Take a look at my RC tips, which helped me good when i gave gmat recently ! ( 740 q 49, v 40 )
Gmat- RC -pack :
1. Five June-July(2011) issues of Economist with complete content
2. Two Gmat Fiction Ebooks ( Ayan Rand - Atlas Shrugged + Ernest Hemingway - A movable feast )
3. Gmat RC Videos - With the most Comprehensive strategies for Gmat RC from fast growing prep company known for its innovative videos.
4. RC 99 - Collection of 99 tough RC's , which gives advanced practice for gmat after doing all RC questions in Official Guide 12.
Read Economist issues and two Gmat fiction for 2 hours daily to get used to gmat style passages , get strategies with RC Videos and Advaned practice with RC99. This should complete a comprehensive Gmat-RC package !
This Surely boosted my confidence in RC. Key lies in formulating your own Rc Strategy out of some videos , RC material links from gmat club forum and regular reading of gmat fiction and Economist. Ofcourse once you have your own strategy practice it on OG and RC 99 Rc passages. It does help to a good extent !

PS - couldnt post the link of my thread where i did post above RC tips, as i am relatively a new member , so posted the whole thing above . Hope it might help. Do read 1000-1500 pages of Gmat fiction , economist / wallstreet journal and scientific american for gmat style passages . Make it a routine for say 1-2 hours while at work or on bus.
Get some RC tips from videos / Rc strategies from some good books, practice all OG RC's and do all RC 99 passages.
Rc99 passages are good and tougher than gmat kinda passages. But they will prepare you well for gmat RC !. Yes do get some strategies first. Let me know if you do need some help with gmat strategies.
