If the school is not on his resume or application, they will not check for it. The point of the background check is to validate the credentials and experiences you submit. Why would an admissions committee care about elements of your background you did not care to be evaluated on in the application process? If he transferred from this "school" to the school to which he earned his bachelor degree, that should be captured in his transcript from the latter.
If I were him, I really wouldn't worry. The exception to that is any sort of negative element such as a criminal record or other such activities, but that is not on the table.

Hi all,
Hope you can help with the below question!
My recommenders were contacted by Re Vera before the decision notification for HBS.... Does this mean any good news? (I´ve already interviewed)
Thank you!
Hi gmatlc.
That's certainly a positive thing though we can only be sure on the decision day. There have been cases where members of admissions team from HBS and Stanford contact recommenders before the release of the decision to check the authenticity of the recommendations before they make the final offer, though this is more common in case of start-ups/entrepreneurship and family business background.
All the best for HBS.
hi how does usually Re Vera contact our recommenders? by phone or email? how about for international applicants?
