I’m having trouble with Reading Comprehension questions that ask about the author’s tone and attitude. I often get confused between neutral and slightly positive or negative tones, especially when the passage is dense with technical information. How do you effectively identify subtle shifts in tone, and are there any specific strategies to approach these types of questions? Also, if you know any good resources or practice materials for this?

Hi. So it is fantastic that you have been able to isolate your weakness down to a question type.
At the same time, It is going to be hard to isolate RCs just for Tone since for example in the OG, you will have an RC with 8 questions and you will either have to drop those other 7 or solve all of them which will make it a much longer exercise. So RC's are tough solve and isolate.
I would instead recommend either general RC practice (with as many official questions as possible) though there are not many tone questions out there as not much otherwise. Alternatively you can try reading different passages and topics that are not GMAT-related and then ask ChatGPT if it matched the author's tone with you. Perhaps you read an article or something else and you can get your ear trained a bit more that way.
My final idea for you would be to focus on the mistakes and try to review and cover as many of those as possible and specifically print out passages and identify the markers that made the author's tone one way or another.
P.S. Sorry, I did not run into this issue during my prep, so did not have to deal with it.

Adding something , perhaps, useful to what bb already said.
There are not so many questions about the tone of the passage on the GMAT. Maybe some on the GRE, but they are pretty rare either.
The tone is roughly in the realm of the main idea, but it's more narrow in scope.
A trick is to look at transition words, specifically, look at the adjectives.
