Hi everyone,
Looking for specific school advice or just what may have worked for you to narrow down your list.
Just got a 670 on the GMAT which I'm happy about and have a pretty solid combo of 12 years of work experience, college GPA and other stuff, not elite territory but I think my application will be pretty decent. My whole story is in the accepted . com and the MBA apply fields if you'd like to see more detail.
I'm currently taking a course at UMass Amherst through their online program. I like it: the people and the format. The cost is really low and I can also take local classes in person if I want. But my profile puts me well into the upper echelon of people who go there just based on GMAT. I wonder if I'd be selling myself short.
There are a whole slew of programs around Boston that cost more and offer slightly more cachet and rigor, whether it's Babson, BU or BC, as well as some programs like Bentley that may offer some merit based aid.
Then I've got UNC and Kelley online, top 20 schools, but double or triple the cost of UMass. UNC has a lot of appeal, but it's such a new program and it's a lot of $$$ (awaiting the bot to tell me about it

) and Kelly I wonder if anyone in Boston will value the IU name.
Since I'm not changing careers from financial services or selling our family business, I'm thinking ROI here and cost vs. prestige is coming into play. Any ideas on how to narrow this down? Or should I just apply to 6-8 places, and then dig further? Anyone care to rave or rant against any of my options? Thank you!
