Hai all
I just took the GMAT few days back and scored a poor 640 ( Q47, V 31 ). This is my second shot at the test.. the first being 620 ( Q 48, V 29 )
I have spent a good one month before each test studying 8-10 hours a day.
The books I used for my second attempt :
1. MGMAT - all guides
2. Powerscorer CR
3. MGMAT tests ranging between 740-690
4. Gprep tests ranging between 700-680
5. OG 12
I really dont know what went wrong...
I am hitting the road block... Should I retake the test ? / Go ahead with my apps ?
My profile is pretty decent but I have a low WE , which I think a good GMAT score can compensate,,,
Guys I need to know from you guys who have killed this test... !!

Hi Priyanka,
Sorry to hear that you didn't meet your test-day goals! Unfortunately, it's hard to give you specific advice, just because there are so many variables. But the big question I always ask is, what was your Test Day like? Did you sleep well, eat a good breakfast? Were you nervous? Did you cope well with anything uncomfortable or annoying at the testing center? It sounds like you had a solid, well-rounded study schedule, so Test-Day stress might be an explanation for your dip in scores. And 8-10 hours is a LOT of studying--it wouldn't surprised me if you were just tired!
As for retaking, you left out a vital detail: your target schools! 640 is a little low, but well within range, of many excellent programs. But if you're shooting for top 10, the 640 will be an obstacle that will take an impressive application to overcome.

All in the TOP 10..
As regards my exam day.. I was pretty cool and not stressed out at all... Though I was not getting sleep for the last one week ( which is quite unlike me lol:) )... I was just fine... bad luck ..
So i am told retaking will be great.. as I am 25 with WE of 2 years.. Prob I retake and apply in R2... I am just contemplating..
