I wonder whether a career goal of “getting a management trainee position in high-tech company” is a reasonable short term career goal.
I have been an engineer for 5 years. I am convinced that a pure technical position is not suitable for me. In my job and extracurricular activities, I have strong interests in interpersonal businesses, such as public speaking, building a club. So I hope switch to "technical + marketing" or"technical + management" position. I want to join a management trainee position in high-tech company.
I am convinced myself that is a feasible path. Is it a reasonable career goal in the eye of admission officer?
Any help will be appreciated.

You would be fine saying that you want to go into General Management. No need to mention trainee etc, as they are fully aware of what opportunities exist. You might want to make sure the school has strong links to the Tech firms you are looking form then you can explain the reasons "why x" and, obviously, the reasoning behind the career choice are probably pretty well thought out.

Try not to post in two seperate places with the same question, btw. Put it in one spot and give people a chance to answer. It is a pain to tidy up otherwise.
