Save must be parallel to adhere. A and C out.
Among B, D, and E.
(B) adhere to a monthly budget are at a reduced risk of experiencing a home foreclosure during a period of unemployment that is prolonged in nature. (just "Prolonged unemployment" Would have stated same meaning) unnecessarily wordy (B out)
(D) adhere to a monthly budget have a reduced risk of experiencing a home foreclosure during prolonged periods of unemployment. (Consice, no verb error) Correct.
(E) adhere to a monthly budget had a reduced risk of experiencing a home foreclosure during prolonged periods of unemployment. (Is the risk higher now? But the sentence points towards low risk not high risk. plus no simple past tense is present) (E out)

I understand that this isn’t an official gmac question, but I was wondering wether b is idiomatic (are at risk) and d is not (have risk), or am I making stuff up in my mind? Would appreciate your view on this question, and what to do when you are not sure of a idiomatic structure, as that remains my only concern in SC, for now. Thanks in advance!
