B- Best ||ism. whose... whose. grow... increase... they correctly refers to canaries.
D: is close but they is ambigious. are the neurons learning new songs??? or are the canaries. B/c canaries are never actually mentioned in this sentence, they refers to neurons. the neurons obviously don't learn new songs.

Got C
EDITED: After reading the posts, I agree that it is D.

I chose E as my answer.
B : Recently documented examples ... mice : Doesn't work
C: mice's brains aren't placed in a stimulating environment
D: Canaries' neurons don't learn new songs. Though am tempted to chose this cause of parallel structure.
That's why I chose E. Any suggestions? Does anyone have the OA?

I am going with E...a really tough one...took me 5 mins to make up my mind...
I am pretty sure it is E. Neurogenesis is the creation of new brain cells. So, documented examples have to be cases of brain growth, not of the mice's brains themselves. B & C are out. A is out because we aren't sure if it means that the brain is placed in the environment, or the mice. D has two problems as i see it, "when" is unclear, and ||ism between "the brain growth in mice" and "the increase in canaries' neurons"
