Hi there! I asked my current supervisor to write me a rec, though I was a bit weary because I never really had a good read on her. She agreed and seemed excited to do it. I kept offering the chance to collaborate on the letter, and she never took me up on it. I gave her the chance to send it to my admissions consultant; she never did that either. She just kept asking me for the link to submit, even though I told her I gave her all the questions and she doesn't need the link to start drafting...
Well. I finally sent her links because she kept asking. Hours after I sent the links, she had submitted. She didn't collaborate with me; she didn't ask my opinion; she probably didn't look at any of the materials I sent her.
So- I don't think she likes me very much or wants me to succeed. Worst case scenario: she wrote HORRIBLE rec. I have great stats and an incredible story otherwise and am targeting M7. How badly will this impact me?? What should I do?
