Solution

Given:
Rectangle A,
• Length = 12 inches
• Width = 5 inches

Rectangle B,
• Length = 9 inches
• Width = 10 inches

To find:
• The ratio of area of rectangle B to the area of rectangle A

Approach and Working:
• Area of rectangle A = 12 * 5 = 60 sq. inches
• Area of rectangle B = 9 * 10 = 90 sq. inches

Therefore, it should be multiplied by $$\frac{90}{60} = \frac{3}{2} = 1.5$$

Hence, the correct answer is Option E
