Regarding Cancelled GMAT score

Question

Hi  bb ,  GMATNinja ,  KarishmaB ,  egmat , any other expert,

I urgently needed to know whether the Bschools get to know that I gave an attempt and cancelled the score (assuming I did cancel that score)? Because in my scorecard, I can see C in place of my cancelled attempt. I know that they won't get to know the exact score of the cancelled score but do they get to know whether I gave an attempt in the first place?

Hi. For the in person test at the test center, the canceled attempts do not show up on the score reports sent to business schools.

This rule has been put in place about three or four years ago. Until that time, every attempt would show up on the score reports shared with the business schools. so you had a lot of applicants who applied to business schools in the past, during even very competitive years when they had canceled scores so it’s not the end of the world either or really a problem even if the schools found out.

PS. Keep in mind that some business schools offer you to upload the PDF of your unofficial school report instead of sending the official scores. If you upload the unofficial PDF, that will display the council scores badge it doesn’t really matter a whole lot frankly.…

To add to what  bb  has said, no, you don't need to worry about any of the B Schools knowing about your cancelled score in a Test Centre Exam.
