Hi there
Had this nagging doubt in my head for find the value type data sufficiency questions. If the value can be found using statement (1) and statement (2), the correct answer choice is option D. What if the value arrived with each statement is different?(say statement (1) gives value 5 and statement (2) gives value 6.) Do we still go with Option D?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Here are the Options for GMAT Data Sufficiency -
Quote:
(A) Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient to answer the question asked.
(B) Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient to answer the question asked.
(C) BOTH statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are sufficient to answer the question asked, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient to answer the question asked.
(D) EACH statement ALONE is sufficient to answer the question asked.
(E) Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient to answer the question asked, and additional data specific to the problem are needed.
Follow this flowchart like a holy bible GMAT DS will be a cake walk -
Hope this helps a bit...
