Regarding official mock tests and Egmat mocks. 23 Aug 2024, 05:52

­I have given 5 mocks in Egmat, constantly scoring 645 and 635. While giving eGMAT mocks I could not complete the sections fully. I left 4 questions in the Data Insights section and 5 in the Verbal. Today I took the official starter exam 2 and I followed the same strategy. I answered 15 DI questions of which 1 was wrong but my percentile was 12 in that. How is the scoring done? I am pissed off. Can anyone tell me how the scoring will be done in the GMAT? Will leaving a question create a huge impact?­

The score you got in official mock is expected. You cannot leave a single question unanswered. Even if you randomly guess on all remaining questions your score will be much higher. Every question must be marked and you must see the review and edit window of every section to ensure that your response of the last question is stored.

The score you got in official mock is expected. You cannot leave a single question unanswered. Even if you randomly guess on all remaining questions your score will be much higher. Every question must be marked and you must see the review and edit window of every section to ensure that your response of the last question is stored.

­Thanks. So if I cannot complete the section within the given time it is better to guess the remaining rather than leave it unanswered, right?

In regards to the official exam, the Understanding Your Score page on the MBA website could be helpful to check out. It mentions, for example, "three factors" DI scores are based on. In addition, the myth vs. fact info (e.g. in the beginning of the Official-Guide 2024) provides some info you may find interesting as well.
