Hello, i have received the official gmat score , wanted to know in any case will it be cancelled in future as I have heard of some students whose score got cancelled after a month or so?

Hi himansh1998,

Assuming that you took the entire Exam - and did so without any technical issues (for example, did the Test 'crash' or did you computer lose power during the Exam?) - and did not purposely cheat (and get caught on camera doing so) - then we have to assume that your Score will be 'certified' and will be valid for the next 5 years.

Is there any particular reason why you think that your Score will be 'cancelled'? And beyond that issue, are you happy with your results? How did you score (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

I don't see any reason why your GMAT score would be canceled after receiving your official score.

I have a score of 690 v-38 q-47 and applied to a few programs as well. during the exam, there was an internet issue for while but was able to complete the test somehow and got the official scorecard as well. But listen to my friend's experience as his official score card is canceled I am a bit afraid now should I give it again from the test center? or this at-home one is good? As to the program to which I am applying 690 is a sufficient score to get admit.

We have to be careful about assuming that the technical issues (and overall Exam-taking experience) that you faced during your At-home GMAT is similar to what your friend experienced. If you have already received your Official Score Results, then it's far more likely that this 690 is a valid result (and will NOT be 'cancelled'). If you have received any communications (either from the Test Moderator during your Exam or via email after taking your Exam) that imply otherwise, then that might be something to consider - and retaking the GMAT at a Test Center would be a reasonable idea. However, barring that type of situation though, we have to assume that there are no issues with this 690 - and you will be fine continuing to apply to Schools with it.

I didn't receive any communication via mail or during the exam through the proctor, so mostly I guess everything is fine till now. And also its almost 2 months now since I received my official score. Thank you for clearing my doubt really very helpfull.
