Question

hi i was wondering after you register for the gmat, can you take the exam as soon as the next day? Or is there a time where you have to wait for an admissions ticket to the testing room. thanks!

When you register, you need to select the exact date and time for the test. You can have the test as soon as the next day, provided it is not fully booked in the test center of your choice. I understand now is one of the peak period - many are aiming for the schools' app deadline. So you may not have an immediate available date.

also, is the test taking center only for gmat test takers or are other tests going to be in progress? If so, are you separated from the other test takers? I just wouldnt want people standing up all the time and making commotion.

For my case, the center also administers other tests, such as TOEFL, GRE, etc. And the timings for all the tests are pretty similar (if not exactly the same). So you find a lot of test-takers coming in at about the same time to register, read the T&C, etc at the reception area.

From the reception area, all the test takers (regardless of the type of test) is individually guided into the same testing area. Each is assigned to a particular terminal to take the test. Once you are seated, you begin the test. So during the initially part of the test, you find that there is quite a bit of movement behind you, especially if you are among the first to go into the testing area. This happened to me. But I guess the good thing is that you will finish your test earlier, so there is less movement behind you towards the end of the test.

I took my test in Singapore. You may want to call up your test center to check.

Also, remember that you can take the test once per calendar month and 5 times per calendar year.

just FYI - as long as a center has an opening, you can register the day before and take it the next day...thats if there is an opening.
