It's been confirmed that around 9:30 AM PST/12:30 PM Eastern, it is possible to register for the GMAT Online test after April 8th. Thank you bhaskar123!
As a reminder, April 8th is when the new enhanced GMAT Online takes place - the online test will get additional features from the standard center-based test such as the addition of the AWA section, 2 optional breaks (still not 100% clear when those breaks will be), section order, and ability to see one's score right away.
Bhaskar123 also notes that GMAT has chosen a new vendor for administering GMAT Online - Examity. (there is currently no official confirmation by either GMAC or examity about the change). In the past it was using Pearson Vue's platform https://home.pearsonvue.com/gmac/onvue
It is not clear what changes will be enacted as a result of changing proctoring vendors. I am guessing the software that runs on the computers to monitor the test experience will change as well as some of the login elements but hopefully the rest stays the same. Currently you will have to create an ID with Examity.

There is also a "fun" Verge article about Examity: https://www.theverge.com/2020/4/29/2123 ... -education from back in April and while they did try to paint it as very creepy, I think it hopefully will be a positive change... maybe?

A client had an exam scheduled for April 4th, and also just added one for April 11th, so it appears that you can schedule them within 16 days of each other, since the systems are separate.
But does anyone know for sure whether this is not actually allowed? The current policy page still says they must be 16 days apart. bb mcelroytutoring AndrewN, any thoughts?
Note: for those who want to reschedule an online exam for after the 8th, the official FAQ gives the following instructions:
"If you schedule an online appointment prior to April 8 and would like to reschedule to an exam appointment on or after April 8, you will need to cancel your original online appointment, and reach out to our Customer Care team to receive a voucher to book your new GMAT™ online appointment on or after April 8 at a reduced registration fee."

I think in this case, your client will probably be able to take the test without waiting for 16 days because these are two separate systems and will likely have two different question banks. They will likely start the new question bank on 8 April.
They did have some lapses with question banks in the summer when there was a almost exact overlap of questions on the online GMAT and the online executive assessment. If you took one, you could take the other and see the exact same questions. The crazy thing, is that it actually did not help the person taking the test to score better. They did not know they would see the same questions but you would think it would help. It’s actually didn’t but this is a side story and I don’t want to go to deep down that rabbit hole. 😎
