Well, this sucks. I just got my 2 rejection letters from MBA schools.
I got 790 gmat score, bachelor in electrical with minor in biomedical engineering with 3.79 Cumulative GPA from Canada, and 1 year of research internship work experience with bunch of great recommendation letters.
Anyone know if MBA schools considers university research experience as a "work" experience. I have tons of research experience, but very minimal real world work experience. The only other work experience I have are working part time in fast food restaurants to pay the bills while I was attending university.
I don't plan going to top MBA school because I just can't afford it.
Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Hi Farsal,
Many Business School Programs expect a certain amount of practical Work Experience from its applicants. While the 'requirement' will vary from School to School and Program to Program, it's often in the range of 2-5 years. Some Programs are willing to accept applicants with far less (or no) Work Experience, but those tend to be really specific situations (defined by the School's Admissions Committee).
Now, all of that having been said, a 790 is an absolutely outstanding score, so you could very easily spend the next couple of years earning the necessary Work Experience, then you can apply down the line (with the potential for Scholarships).
Since you're ultimately asking Admissions questions though, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:
