The way I read the sentence I took it to mean that a person named Charles Lindbergh was flying an airplane. Just saying.

Hi EducationAisle,
1) Is it also possible for such a case to have comma's, instead of quotes, as below?
The single-engine monoplane, Charles Lindbergh, flew across the Atlantic Ocean is currently on display at ..

2) But then in these sentences, what will be the main verb in the sentence? "flew or is"?
Well, both of them are main verbs and so, they should be connected in some way. For example:

The single-engine monoplane 'Charles Lindbergh' flew across the Atlantic Ocean and is currently on display at ..

Quote:
3) Isn't it necessary to have a relative pronoun, that or which in the original sentence posted (assuming Charles Lindbergh is the name of the plane)?? Asking the same question again

The single-engine monoplane (that) Charles Lindbergh flew across the Atlantic Ocean is currently on display at ...
Well, the improvised sentence that you've suggested does not seem to indicate that Charles Lindbergh is the name of the plane.

If 'Charles Lindbergh' was indeed the name of the plane, then following would be one way to articulate the sentence:

The single-engine monoplane 'Charles Lindbergh', which flew across the Atlantic Ocean, is currently on display at ....
