Maybe a dumb question. I am applying to schools for 2010. I took the GMAT last december and reported scores to 5 schools when I took the test. Later in the spring, I paid to have my scores reported to a few other schools. How do I know if the schools actually received the scores? I don't see anywhere in the application systems of schools I'm applying to that tells you whether or not your score was received.

You should check with the schools apps, I know many of them don't ask for the official scores until AFTER you get accepted. The schools would believe self reported scores generally. There are a few exception, for Ross, they have an internal access system where they can pull up your scores directly from GMAC. (I don't know if it's really that simple, but I called the adcom and they said I had to pay GMAC and then while on the phone they were like okay we can get the files now.)

Are you sure this is the case? I know most of them don't official transcripts until after you're accepted but I'm pretty sure most of them require and official score report to be sent...

I think some schools will let you do that, all of the ones I'm applying to require you to submit to have the results sent with the application though.

If necessary, you could probably send in a copy of the reporting confirmation to show that you had already submitted it. For the five schools chosen at the time of the test, that should have been part of the official score report. Of course, if the school still doesn't have it, then there's probably no choice but to pay GMAC the fee again. Some of the online apps (don't remember which off the top of my head) will confirm whether the official score has been received or not.

I don't think Kellogg requires official score to be sent. It was self reported. I can be wrong, it's been almost a year.

But again some schools yes, and some schools no. Depends where you apply.

Yeah, I just said screw it and sent them all last night. I figured, what the hell is another $28 in this entire process...

Doesnt GMAC send you a report fullfillment email? I remember receiving one.
Cheers!
