Hi,
First of all, thanks for taking the time out for evaluating my profile. I really appreciate it!
I require your experience & help in understanding how strong my profile is, and whether i am choosing the right schools. Before I go further, here's the outline of my profile:
GMAT SCORE: 700 (Q50, V34)
A solid score. I wish your verbal was just a tad higher. Any possibility of retaking? That would help your chances at a school like Anderson especially. NATIONALITY: Indian
GENDER: Male
GPA: 8.48/10
UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE: Engineering
High GPA, many applicants from India will have high GPAs in Engineering though. Which school you attended will matter too.WORK EXP DURATION: Current - 2.75Years (By the time I start in a program, >3)
A little low, but not a dealbreaker
Make sure you have clear reasons for why now makes sense for you.WORK EXP INDUSTRY: ANALYTICS - CONSULTING [ Involves giving solutions to business problems using various mathematics based analytical techniques viz. regression , clustering etc]
1. CONSULTING EXP:
Is this with a well known/global firm? If so that could help. Any international exposure to clients? That could help too. Otherwise the mix of consulting and analytics is great, and I like that you can demonstrate of mix of hard and soft skills. a. Proactively worked towards amplifying the account revenue by identifying prospective clients and successfully converted pilot accounts worth $1.2 million
b. Spearheaded the development of predictive models that improved ROI of existing marketing campaigns for a fortune 30 company
c. Part of Core Client Engagement team- Helped redefine customer relationship which resulted in boosted delivery and more auth conversations.
2. ANALYTICS EXP:
a. Worked on various mathematical models for a F500 company that helped decrease their CPA by over 200%
b. Received multiple award for excellence in delivering projects
c. Current working with a startup in India helping them set up their entire analytical framework.
3. OTHER EXP:
a. Co- Founded an NPO in my 2nd Year of college which had over 150 associates working in it, spread over 2 cities.
Great! Any current volunteer work or other activities outside work? Now, I am really unsure how my profile fares with others from my applicant pool. Would really love it if someone could please provide some insights on that. This in turn is resulting into me being unsure about my college selections for the applications.
Nevertheless, these are the schools i am thinking about applying to:
McDonough, Foster, Anderson in US
Imperial College Business School & Warwick in UK
Rotman in Canada
I think these schools make sense and you are targeting an appropriate range of schools. Anderson could be tough with your GMAT and possible lack of current extracurriculars. But your academic background and work experience seem really strong. I'm not sure what your post MBA goals are, but hopefully there's a connection to your past analytics / consulting work. Good luck! Do these make sense. Any help would be really appreciated. TIA!
