Hello! Hope you're doing well and keeping safe!
I would like your feedback on my profile and some advice on whether I should be applying to US business schools for 2021 or 2022
Profile:
Female, 24 years
Undergrad: English honors from one of the top 5 colleges in the country (duration: 3 years)
Class 12th: 96%
Class 10: CGPA 10/10 ( round about ~95%)
Yet to take GMAT (aiming for a 730-750)
A. Work ex: 3 years as of June 2020 ( completely in the social sector)
1. Teach for India fellowship: 2 years
- Taught English & Social Science to 140 Grade 8 & 9 students in a government school. Selected as one of the top 7 classrooms in India to be studied for the pioneering growth generated in 2 years, as a part of Teach for India’s Transformational Impact Journey (TIJ) program
- Started a social start-up/ community based project to empower parents of adolescent students belonging to one of the most vulnerable communities in the state (60 households) through strategies for better academic performance of students. Activities included primary and secondary research, strategy design, implementation and execution, project management, and monitoring and evaluation.
2. Consultant to a State Government department: 10 months
Area of work was involved initiating, executing and evaluating projects for systemic improvements in education. More than 200K beneficiaries impacted.
3. Data lead for a US-based not for profit called TechnoServe:
Responsible for overall data management of a flagship program, and providing data driven insights to senior leadership of the organization for strategic decision making.
B. Extra-curricular activities:
1. Senior member and lead performer in the western dance group of my college (areas: Hip-hop and dancehall): Won 15+ national inter-college competitions
2. Project director for an NGO: managed and led 50 volunteers and supervised operations in 4 MCD schools
C. Post MBA goal:
To work with a foundation (like Omidyar Network or Asha Impact) or with a Management consulting firm (Eg: BCG Social Impact practice)
D. Dream schools:
1. Stanford GSB
2. Columbia
3. Chicago Booth
4. Yale SOM
5. HBS/ Kellogg
I'd love to know the following:
1. If you think my profile is strong enough for the schools I'm targeting. If not, what can I do to improve?
2. Since my undergrad duration was 3 years, should I apply for the batch starting 2021 or 2022?
3. Any other advice or imput

Hi, and thanks for writing! I like the social impact you've made - very cool that you founded a social startup. Admissions is very competitive for Indian applicants, so aiming for a 740+ GMAT is the way to go. One note about Stanford is that, for Indian applicants with 3-year college degrees, it strongly prefers that you have a master's degree as well.
The average number of years of work experience for those entering top MBA programs is 4-5 years. Also, are you in the consulting role now, after having finished the fellowship? Regarding whether you should apply this year - I think it depends on the professional impact you've made. How confident are you in that and in the quality of recommendations you'll receive (i.e. how well they're able to attest to your performance, potential, and growth)?
Regarding post-MBA goals: I think that management consulting in the short-term makes sense, and then a foundation in the long-term.
