Hey there, I am an Indian male with civil engineering background with total work experience of 8 years.

Kindly look into my profile and evaluate the same.

Academics

Class 10: 80.6%
Class 12: 78%
Graduation: 70%
BE Civil engineer from BESU Shibpur (Presently IIEST Shibpur), Kolkata, (Top 1% college in state)

Professional

1) Duration: 3 years
GET at M N Dastur & Co Pvt Ltd
Worked as a project management consultant and planning engineer for a major TATA steel project at Kalinganagar Odisha. Have worked in different aspects of project management e. g. Time management, Resource management, Risk analysis, Critical path analysis, What if analysis etc...
Worked with various international technical suppliers, Involved in implementation of plans with higher management as well as engineering staff.
Successfully dealt with project schedules, delivery schedules and various technicalities of a high budget (4500 crore) project in terms of project management.
Team size: 5 engineers
Position: Unit head

2) Duration: 5 years
Engineer at Indian Railways, the largest employer in India
Worked as a planning and maintenance engineer.
Involved in
implementation of maintenance schedules,
engineering execution jobs,
Resource deployment and productivity analysis
Involved in team work with higher management and led teams of strength upto 50 engineering staffs.
Underwent several trainings and recieved leadership certificates.
Team size: 50 engineering staffs
Position: Sectional Incharge

Hobbies: Guitarist, played at different cultural events

GMAT: 710

Target schools: IIM A, IIM B, IIM L, IIM C, ISB, XLRI

Post MBA Goals:
Since I have always enjoyed working as an engineer with specific inclination towards process implementation and problem solving, I would like to continue in the same domain. Operations and Management consulting are the two career options I am looking forward to. looking for an institution that would help me add to my knowledge and provide post mba work opportunities in consulting and management sectors.

Questions

Which school should be my best options considering the aforesaid background and interests?

How relevant is my profile for my target schools or any other schools you suggest.

What additional certifications can I get to add value to my profile.

Hi,
So given your score, academics and professional profile, I think your app would be considered at the schools you've listed. However do keep in mind that there will be a lot of applicants with similar backgrounds and profiles competing against you, so the more you can share what makes you who you are, interesting sides to your life and strengths, interpersonal and communication and leadership skills... the better. I am not well versed at the nuanced differences among your target programs beyond ISB and the top IIM options, but as you look at schools look at things such as:

-employment reports (critical!)
-curriculum-- consider which would best help you in your post-MBA goals!
-class size
-programs and projects and activities outside class
-geographical setting

And speak with students/alum at each for best feedback!
