I'm currently outlining which MBA programs I'm going to apply to and need some help understanding where I fit.
Raw stats:GMAT: 710 (49Q / 37V / 5.5AWA / 5IR)
GPA: 3.0 (2 failed courses, GPA is 3.2 if those courses are not included)
Degree: Computer Science, emphasis on algorithms
University: Overall top 50 international, top 30 international in computer science, public ivy
Ethnicity: Mixed race American female, identify as white
Age: 27
Languages: French (basic understanding), formal education in 4 other languages. Self-taught how to read 2 different writing systems.
Work:Company: Extremely well-known tech company for 3 years
Job title: Software Engineer
Promotions: 2
Accomplishments: Presided over one of the most successful major upgrades in my company's history (major accomplishment), email accolades from VP (not named but my work was explicitly mentioned)
Responsibilities: Varied, primarily technical analysis, data interpretation, and automation. Rarely, analysis of major SOPs is involved.
Personal:- Today: Data science and data mining (AI, graph theory, subject matter: twitter data)
- Past: Senior administrator (community interaction, direct server administration, ) for a large gaming community with over 10 servers. I managed over 100 individuals (30 directs) and set policies for expanding our user base. >5000 users/mo. Extremely international user base.
MBA:Goals: To use my MBA to maneuver myself into a more leadership position over time. I'm looking to expand the use and impact of automation and data in high-tech environments.
Type of program: The program should have a healthy offering of analytics courses on top of the standard fare of operations and leadership courses.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on any programs I fit into and fit me. So far I've looked into McCombs, Tepper, Cornell, LSB, and IE. I'm not sure where I place with regards to LSB and IE.
Any input would be extremely helpful.
