I gave the GMAT again but without any meaningful preparation because I suddenly saw an afternoon (2 pm) test center slot, two days away and I booked it immediately as I had application deadlines to consider. The scores are Q44 V41 IR8. 700 Overall. Again, horrible on Q, but atleast better than the 590 exactly one month back! I have accepted the scores. This time I selected the order AWA, IR, Q V. I just thought I'll update the thread.

These reports are not frequent but I have seen a number of people taking the test again two weeks or a month later without meeting full effort or preparation and scoring 50 to 100 points more. Glad you got this and got your official score closer to your practice score results. Obviously it only works if your practice scores are high… which also proves that the GMAT algorithm isn’t quite perfect and you can get dinged so you have to look at your real score and your practice test scores to understand if you had some kind of a personal glitch on the test.
