Hi All,
I have an important question related to the career questions asked at the end of the GMAT exam.
I was asked the GPA to be calculated on a scale of 4.0 and there were criteria mentioned to calculate GPA from percentage
I had 68% in my degree which puts me in first class (not sure how good/bad it is ) but according to the GMAC criteria, it was 1.9 GPA.
So, I selected that and submitted. The same report is now sent to AGSM where I am planning to apply.
Could someone please tell me if it will be a big -ve when school directly sees 1.9 GPA on report and will it impact my application when I submit it for even first consideration.
OR do schools evaluate the %age on their own criteria and then evaluate.
I don't see 68% to be considered as 1.9 GPA.
I would really appreciate a help and response on this.

Usually the schools do NOT rely on the self-reported GPA on your GMAT Score report. You could put 4.0 there... or rather everyone would have in that case 
They will review your proper transcript and will review and verify the GPA you will submit with your application. Many of the Indian schools rely on a CGPA or 10/9 point GPA scale and many experienced schools consider that without doing any kind of a conversion to the 4.0 scale since the two are not really comparable....
Hope this puts your mind at ease.
The info on the Score report is for GMAC to market your information to schools so that they could filter out candidates to whom they will send email/mail for recruiting.
