The OG books are great for practice but not enough to learn quant from scratch, so start by rebuilding your math basics. Use free resources like GMAT Ninja and GMAT Club on YouTube or affordable ones like Manhattan Foundations of Math. You don’t need to buy a paid course unless you want structure (TTP is great but pricey). With 2–3 months of consistent, focused practice, you can absolutely hit a 700+.

Hello, I am a humanities student and haven't done any math (except for day-to-day calculations) in about 8-9 years. I want to score a 700+ on the GMAT. I have all the OG books for 2025-2026. Would these be enough? I took a mock test without any prep and scored a 435. I am really rusty with math and consequently, struggled with both Quant and DI. I have heard TTP is quite good for quant but they seem quite expensive. Could someone please suggest some resources or give me advice to improve my Quant and DI scores? And do I HAVE to buy a course to improve at Quant or can I get by with free resources like youtube videos? Please help!

The gmatclub math book could be helpful to check out/include into your prep. You can download it for free as a PDF. Looking up the gmatclub threads of questions you find challenging could also be helpful (i.e. to see the posted solutions/explanations people have shared.

Hello chocomilk,

To begin with, you can take a free, full-length GMAT-like mock test: https://www.expertsglobal.com/free-gmat-practice-test

Further,

Here’s a source for 150+ short videos, covering nearly all the frequently tested concepts on the GMAT.
