Be careful with stuff like this though. I have seen people called out big-time on interests sections on the resume. I know people on the internship hunt who have had full 30 minute interviews on side-points to their resume, and I cannot see why it wouldn't happen in a school interview (they just play the game one step earlier).

But mountain climbing shows determination, a bit more roundedness and activity. Probably a good team activity as well, as you shouldn't really climb alone.

Just tell the truth. If you climb mountains, put mountain climbing. If you write poetry, put write poetry. Show a school who you really are and not who you think they want you to be. Wouldn't you rather attend a school that wants you for you are and not a fabrication on a resume?

Lanter1 - for sure, I am just pointing to having a full interest and a proper depth to it. I like wine, but I wouldn't have put fine wine on my resume. Because I cannot hold a 15 minute conversation about the qualities of Pinot Noir. My friend had a 25 minute chat about the New York Giants and their history in an interview.

It is more the difference between something that is important to you and know about as opposed to something you do a little and think will look good.

If you had a 30 minute interview about the Saints, what would you do the other 29 minutes?;)

It's not like I can say much....I'm a Chief's fan. We've played the "Rebuilding Year" card so many times that now that we have a good draft, everyone is waiting to see how we screw it up and lose to Denver again this year!

I lived in KC for 2 years, so I have nothing against the Chiefs. I'm a little irritated you grabbed Glenn Dorsey in the draft, but I think he'll be a huge asset for your team.

Absolutely. I couldn't believe he fell as far in the draft as he did. Our gain and he's still going to be guaranteed $$millions$$! Now...about Brody Croyle...

Let's hope you don't put Kansas City Royals fan on your resume. I don't think you'd get a response from any employer. They'd probably think you made a typo and they would move on to the next resume. :)

Whereas I'm a Tranmere Rovers fan..

Just signed our Manager on a new 2 year contract but got shot of 4 players.
Robbie Stockdale played 80 matches at Right Back for 2 seasons, but lacks pace and attacking flair, even though he is in a defensive position
Released John Mullin after an injury plagued season, his performances downgraded.
Mike Jones failed to make the grade, only 20 years old, and Michael Johnstone was released after he failed to break into the first team.

Unfortunately we look like losing one of out starlets, Steven Davies hasn't signed a new contract so will probably get a bigger offer from a richer club.

(NB: This is a sarcastic post... Facts are real though)

I'm guessing it's soccer. The other post refers to "a richer club" when saying a player may get a better offer. Soccer teams in England (and Europe?) are referred to as clubs. I've only heard of baseball teams in the U.S. being referred to as a "ball club", but rarely.

The U.S. is the only place to call a sport football that rarely uses their feet to contact the ball. And the players on the team that do often get referred to as "The damn kicker!"

I don't mind futbol, but I like football better. ;)

I looked them up on Wiki and they are an English team. I am a very casual futbol "soccer" fan but had never heard of them.

American Football used the foot a lot more in it's inception as it resembled rugby and over time it moved toward the game we see today. The name just stuck, but I agree that "soccer" being called football makes more sense.
