Retake in 1 hour! 700 first time

I got 700 Q50 V34 and wasn't happy at all with my verbal score because I was scoring around 40 during my practice.
Fingers crossed!

hey guys
I cancelled my score... it was a horrible and depressing experience!

I spent about 10 minutes on the first math question -- i was so obsessed with the myth that the first 10 questions are the most important ones that I couldn't let go of the first question.
End result, I got to question 27 with 10 mins left on the timer. I panicked, clicked away randomly the last 10 questions... 
I was devastated and decided during the break not to go on with the verbal section. I told the supervisor that I would like to cancel my score.

I have rescheduled a take next monday... but quite honestly I'm kinda wiped and haven't studied a word since my last take a month ago. I guess I'll try to do a CAT this weekend, if I score really bad I think I'll cancel the test and settle with 700 and a low verbal score...

Good luck with your next attempt. Give a couple of practice tests to get used to the timing. I see no reason for you to get tensed as you are already in the 700 territory.

Also remember that although the first set of questions seem to be important, it's way better to move on rather than spending too much time on it. I'm sure you'll have better luck next time.

If it's of any help to you, I talked to a Yale adcom and he said they don't really care if there's a second low score, meaning that your 700 would still be good for them.

I can relate to that! I just recently cancelled my exam for the same reason. Aren't you supposed to leave a break of 31 days before you retake your exam?

My last take was on August 26. I did a gmatprep CAT today, wasn't very focused but still scored a 770 (49Q 47V) but with LOTS of repeats on the verbal section, but none of math... but anyway it's always good for the morale

Tomorrow's the retake! I'm going there with the mindset that I've got nothing to lose. I already reported my 700 score to schools so if I get below that I won't report my new score
