Thanks a lot for your feedback. I'm confident I could improve with some proper training, but time is short and getting to a 47 of 48 might not be worth the lost time on essays. And, of course, a score bump is not a sure thing (and a canceled score could look bad).

Any thoughts out there on feeling an admissions person out about this question?

Thanks!

You should talk to a school specific consultant first. Mark and Dave are our experts for Berkeley Haas. View their profiles here: https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#-admissio ... l/Berkeley

You can get a free profile evaluation here: https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#-sch ... valuation/

Meanwhile, you can start a general communication with the admission people to get a foot in the door.

I have seen this come up several times with my students who were applying to Berkeley Haas. 750 is an excellent score and I don't know how the admissions committee will look at the quant score. Here is some information I had saved from an online chat transcript between Haas admissions folks and students. This might help you.

Chat with the Haas MBA Admissions Committee
Stephanie Fujii -- Associate Director for MBA Admissions
Cindy Jennings -- Assistant Director of MBA Admissions

Nicole
With regards to GMAT score, if someone has an overall score of 700 but has done better on one section than the other, how will that affect said student's application?

Cindy HAAS
Nicole, It really depends on the variance. We in particular look closely at your quantitative score to measure quantitative proficiency. If you score within the 80th percentile, we consider this a proficient quant score.

Mj
In the supplementary essay question regarding quantitative proficiency, is it necessary to have taken additional math classes? Or can I just mention the math courses I took at college?

Stephanie HAAS
You should mention any math/stats courses you took in college, any quantiative experience you have in your work experience, etc. We'll also be looking at your GMAT quant score. If you feel that any of these areas are less competitive, you may want to consider taking a stats &/or calc course.

Personally, I would just call them up and ask them directly. They are often pretty helpful.

Also, I have no experience with MBA admissions, and this type of information usually comes up in casual discussions with my students.

Cheers,
Dabral
