Hi bellsprout25.

The system won't let you book a test too early. So, you're all set.

To maximize your score, be sure to warm up before your test by doing a few practice questions.

Hi there,

I took the GMAT today at the test center and got a 730 - 48Q/42V but an IR 2. I'd really like to retake just because I know I can do better on IR and I am dissapointed in my performance. I booked the GMAT online for Sunday at 10am just because I think I was stressed on test day and wasn't able to perform my best and I think I can redo it again soon for better results. I already booked the exam, but suddenly got anxious while reading the policies about the 16 day wait. According to this article, it says that you don't need to wait if you switch formats, but I'm not so sure. Can someone please help me confirm? I don't want my scores to get cancelled.

"First, there is a 16-day waiting period between exams of the same format (both in a testing center or both online). If you switch formats—for example, first take it in a testing center and then switch to the GMAT Online—there isn’t a waiting period."

Thank you so much,

Super anxious

You are correct. If you switch from the in-person to the GMAT online or vice versa, you do not have to wait 16 days.
