Greetings,
I noticed the message that says once I begin a free test, it will no longer be available to me - once I've exhausted all free tests, do I need to pay for more ? or is there some way to retake certain types of tests with different questions? Making burner accounts to take redundant mocks is tedious but COVID nuked my income something harsh and.. well you get the picture

Hi. Welcome to GMAT Club.
Are you referring to GMAT Club tests or GMAT prep tests or anything specific?
If you’re asking about GMAT Club tests in particular, you do get one quantum one verbal test for free. They are adaptive but the way the algorithm works for multiple accounts you’ll see a significant overlap in questions because the algorithm will keep picking the same questions most of the time as long as the pattern remains the same so if you answer the first questions correctly there’s a pretty good chance those will be the exact same questions you’ll get the next time. Overtime, there will be a difference because question difficulties get adjusted and we had questions and remove them so you may have a variance but it’ll likely be the same set.
If you’re talking about GMAT prep test, then there’s definitely value in retaking them because the question bank is so big and it is worth resetting them.

You can reset those as many times as you want, and there is value in retaking them. Tests 3-6 can be purchased, but once you have taken them, you get a single reset, since the question pool is much smaller.
You ought to consider utilizing the Practice Question Banks to access as many questions as you could hope for. It would be a mistake to prepare for the exam by using mock tests exclusively, even though you never said you were doing so. Mocks are simply a way to gauge your progress at certain times as a break from the day-to-day prep work you are putting in.
I am all about maximizing preparation on a tight budget. I am convinced that with persistence, you can earn your best score, free of charge, by dipping generously into what this site has to offer: official questions, top-notch responses from the community and Experts, even video tutorials (such as the GMATNinja Verbal series).
Good luck with your studies.
