Hi burnttwinky,

Yes, the hard questions are absolutely in line with the current GMAT content. Most of these have been tested over the last three or four years(some go back to 2005) and the style of these questions is the closest to the real exam, in my opinion. You are right that most of the questions in the Official Guide are easy, this is because most of these have been selected from the GMAT Paper tests(where one had less time per question) and Old ETS administrations(where one could only miss one or two to get perfect score). However, if you look at the following questions from Official Guide GMAT 13th Edition: Problem Solving Question#91, 111, 114, 117, 129, 163; Data Sufficiency Question#80, 83, 92, 99, 109, 131 are all examples of questions written by Pearson Vue and more in line with the current content.

I would recommend everyone to practice with these sets. The style of the GMAT is such that the questions are not overly tedious but require some thought. They are all new and the most important part of GMAT preparation is to practice with questions you have never seen before. Once you have seen the solution to a GMAT question, they all appear easy.

Cheers,
Dabral

Dabral,

Thanks for the information. I tried to download the GMAT Prep 2 software, but it says that it is currently unavailable. Are you getting the same response from the site if you try to download it? I have already purchased the question pack but I need the GMAT Prep 2.0 software I believe.

I've also posted Manhattan GMAT's analysis of GMATPrep 2.0 here: mgmat-s-gmatprep-2-0-review-errors-discovered-130236.html
The analysis also uncovers some errors that we discovered in the software. Take a look.

Thanks, Dabral. For some reason it doesn't work on my home computer, but it does for my work computer. Did you have any problems when entering the activation code for question pack 1? Once I entered the code and clicked activate, nothing happened and the screen remained the same.

Hi burnttwinky,

No problem with activating it either.

I just finished solving all of the 200 Quant problems.

Dabral,

In the More Options feature in the practice mode, can I choose how many questions that I would like to answer? It seems as if I click Quantitative (Medium), it gives me 48 problems. Can I set it to where I only want to do 15 medium problems rather than 48?

Unfortunately, it forces you to select the entire set of 48 Medium questions. One work around is to do 15 questions at first, then when you go back select the option of answering only the unanswered questions, and select Medium and then then do another 15. You could time all these sets. The software does keep track of the unanswered questions and there would not be any repeats.

How many times would you have to take the GMATPrep tests to end up knowing that every question or most questions are repeats?
