Topic..teh best way for society to prepare their young for leadership is by instilling sense of cooperation not competition
Man is a social animal. These words echo across the earth. Mankind has been known to succeed and has risen to the top only because of man's ability to think, to socialize. As per Darwin's theory of evolution, man has evolved from primates and surpassed all other species just because of his intellectual ability. The issue here deals with a vital question, whether cooperation or competition makes an efficient leader, ready to lead the society.
Both cooperation and competition play a vital role in leadership. However, over the years the former has proved pivotal for a leader to succeed. Only when one understands the problems of a society, cooperates with his contemporaries, when exchange of ideas take place, only then can a suitable solution be drawn. History has proven that many great leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Winston Churchill, succeeded only because of their ability to cooperate and connect with the people.
It was not the competition that made them succeed as leaders, but was their ability to listen, interpret and then act that embedded their names in the annals of history.
Cooperation is vital in today's world, without which the society would fall like a pack of cards. It is the quality that holds the nation together. Democracy proves that without cooperation a nation cannot be run successfully. The youth of today must be instilled with a sense of cooperation to enable them to tactfully handle the situations that they may face in the future. Only if the youth are prepared appropriately right from childhood, only when their skills are honed properly, can they become able leaders in the future.
But it would be unfair to say competition plays no part in making a leader. Competition brings out the inner strength of a person. It is only when a person is faced by a staunch opponent does he rise to the occasion and improve himself. In today's competitive world, one cannot simply succeed without a competitive spirit. Although, cooperation is essential to be successful and understand a society’s problem, but only a balanced combination of cooperation and competitive attitude would bring about a true leader, ready of pay heed to the cries of the society, and also rise to the occasion when needed.
Thus in today's world it is essential that the youth are equally instilled with qualities of both cooperation and competition, only then can they be efficient leaders of the society, ready to overcome any difficult situation that they may face in the in future.
